Training Opportunities through the TSBDC
The Tennessee Small Business Development Center, located at 2109 W. Market St. in Johnson City is offering several training opportunities in October and November for small businesses. If you currently have a small business or have ever dreamed of having your own business, these classes are for you!!
October 9 - "So You Want to Start a Business," a 3-hour class, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. There is no charge for this class.
October 17 - "Writing Your Business Plan," a 3-hour class, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is a $10.00 fee to attend.
October 25 - "So You Want to Start a Business," a 3-hour class, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for this class.
November 7 - "So You Want to Start a Business," a 3-hour class, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. There is no charge for this class.
November 8 - "Business Planning for Day Cares," a 2-hour class, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There is no charge for this class, which takes place at Wesley Memorial Methodist Church.
November 13 - "Budgeting for Cash Flow," a 3-hour class, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is a $20.00 fee to attend.
November 14 - "Small Business Tax Workshop," a 3-hour class, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There is a $5.00 fee to attend.
November 14 - "Employers Tax Workshop," a 3-hour class, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is a $5.00 fee to attend.
November 15 - "Writing Your Business Plan," a 3-hour class, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is a $10.00 fee to attend.
November 20 - "So You Want to Start a Business," a 3-hour class, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for this class.

(BERO) Specialist
Once a month, State of Tennessee BERO Specialist Mr. Ronnie Wade travels to downtown Johnson City to meet with any interested business owner to discuss various ways to grow business. These meetings take place by appointment at the JCDA offices at 207 East Main Street, Johnson City, Tennessee. Carrying out the department's mission, Wade serves as a resource to downtown small and potential business owners providing assistance with procurement and business opportunities while at the same time connecting large and small businesses in order to create partnership opportunities.

In addition to resources for business planning, licensing, finances, expansion, certification and other business needs, Mr. Wade will be bringing the last information on Cover Tennessee.
